How can a 8000 mile fence be built? Their are folks out there that can drill through a mountain starting at both sides and meet in the middle, so I am sure that a fence would not present much of a problem. It is interesting when some in the news media talk about the fence, you see news clips of some old raggiedy fence that people can climb over giving the impression that this is the type of fence that would be built. I am quite sure the U.S. has engineers smart enough to constuct a fence that would be hard to climb over or dig under.

Facts?
Listening to the Dennis Miller Show today and a woman called in. She started on her talking points about the Iraq war, etc. One of her statements was about pulling troop out of Afghanistan and sending them to Iraq, thus not finishing the job in Afghanistan. Did a bit of research about this. From what I can find out there were approximately 10000 troops in Afghanistan in 2002 when the Taliban was ousted. Now there are approximately 26,000 U.S. troops there. The total number of troops there now are approximately 35,500 with the NATO troops added in. Some how the numbers just do not add up.
